About me

Asalaamu Alaykum sisters and welcome! I am Naomi, a wife and mother to 5 (ages 19-4yrs) . I am a Puerto Rican Muslimah from Chicago now living in sunny Southern California. I make YouTube videos about dawah, living healthy and motivation for women to strive for the best life. I'm also a contributing writer for Me Muslima and I former writer for SoLatina. I am finishing a degree in communications. Prior to converting I worked as a community counselor and speaker at Mel Trotter Ministries.

Happiness is a choice and one that we often times have to fight for. The purpose of my work is to encourage sisters to fight for the changes that we want in our lives. These fights begin from within and with ones self. Hope is the fuel needed to continue forward. As long as you have hope for something better, then anything is possible inshaAllah. "Esperanza" is Hope in Spanish and also my way to dedicate my works to my grandmother whose name was Esperanza. Some of my messages are in Spanish as well. InshaAllah this will be of some benefit to you or a sister that you know. Please leave a comment and share.

Topics you can expect here are:
  •  Relationships, healing from abuse
  • Parenting (from pregnancy to young adult)
  • Living / eating healthy
  • Culture and history
  • Reviews on products I recommend
  • Recipes
  • Videos and podcasts
  • Spanish :-)
  • Honesty, love and my intention to serve my sisters (all women) sharing what I have learned

My overall goal is to encourage that we be proactive in our lives and fight to hold on to HOPE. We can all overcome any obsticle inshaAllah.

So do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers.  Quran Surah Ali 'Imran 3:139
