Quran (English) Reading Challenge

Asalaamu Alaykum dear sisters! Alhamdulilah. I challenge us to read our Qurans (or translations) as often as possible. I challenge that we try to complete a reading of our Qurans outside of the month of Ramadan. We can work at our own pace but we should make sure to try and understand what we are reading. InshaAllah this can then encourage us to apply what we are reading into our lives and our hearts.

My goal is to read a juz day (or a few times a week) of which I will record along with some comments and thoughts on my YouTube channel. We will then meet here on the blog for further discuss and to share what we may have learned.

In todays reading we read the first juz of the Quran. The Quran is broken up into 30. We read from surah Al Fatihah to the second chapter surah Baqarah verse 141. Here are a few verses that stood out to me.

"In their hearts is a disease." 2:9

"O mankind! Worship your Rabb who created you and created those who came before you; by doing this you may become pious" 2:21

"Seek Allah's help with patience and salah, it is indeed hard to be punctual in offering salah except for those who fear Allah." 2:45

"But, even after seeing that your hearts became hard like a rock or even harder, for there are some rock from which rivers gush out, and there are some which break asunder and water comes out of them, and there are some which fall down with the fear of Allah. Allah is not unaware of what you do." 2:74

"Who is more unjust than the one who prevents people from te masajid of Allah, and to mention His name therein, and strives to ruin them?" 2:114

"Say:"By no means! we follow the faith of Ibrahim, the upright one:and he was not of the mushrikeen." 2:135

SubhanAllah this juz is a great reminder of how Allah how control of everything and that the Prophets peace be upon them all were all Muslims.
